Richardson County Sheriff Office is looking for a full time Telecommunicator! Starting pay is $20 DOE. Benefits include Health insurance, NPERS, Vacation, and Sick Leave. Employees are expected to work 12 hour rotating shift. Must be 18 years old, have High School Diploma or equivalent, and must be able to pass a background check.
Job duties include but are not limited to Answering and prioritizing 911 calls and non-emergency calls, dispatching deputies, interacting with LE, EMS, Fire, Jail staff, and the public, handling confidential information, and data entry.
Applicants are expected to be proficient in multi tasking, have excellent written and spoken communication, must be able to type 50 wpm, and have excellent customer service skills.

Jailer

Full Time

Richardson County Sheriff Office is looking for a full time Jailer! Starting pay is $19 DOE. Benefits include Health insurance, NPERS, Vacation, and Sick Leave. Employees are expected to work 12 hour rotating shift.
Applicants must be 19 years old, must have High School Diploma or equivalent, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and must be able to attend LETC training in Grand Island for two weeks within the first year.
Duties include but are not limited to oversee the daily activities of inmates, ensuring compliance with facility rules and maintaining order within the jail environment, conduct regular security inspections and headcounts to ensure the safety of inmates, staff, and visitors, respond to emergencies and disturbances, maintaining control during crisis and ensuring the safety of all individuals in the facility, Provide basic necessities such as food, clothing, and medical care, Maintain accurate records of inmate activities, incidents, and other relevant documentation, Conduct searches of inmates and their living quarters to prevent the introduction of contraband into the facility, and escort inmates to court appearances and other appointments ensuring their safety during transport.

Deputy

The Richardson County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Deputy Sheriff full-time. $10,000 hiring bonus for full-time Nebraska Certified. Non-certified applicants must be 21 years of age prior to completion of the Nebraska Law Enforcement training program - Must be a citizen of the United States. - Must possess a High School Diploma or a certificate certifying an educational development of at least a high school graduation level (GED). - Must possess a valid Driver' License. - Must pass a T.A.B.E. test. - Must be of good character, so as to be free of any convictions of any crime punishable by imprisonment in a state or federal penitentiary for a term of one (1) year or more. - Must be able to pass the physical agility test as established by the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center. - Must meet all other requirements specified by the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center. Richardson County Sheriff's Office offers full-time Deputies benefits, including competitive wages, provided uniforms and updated equipment, retirement, medical insurance for the Deputy, paid time off, paid holiday leave, and a take-home patrol unit. No living requirements.
