DISPATCHER
The Richardson County Sheriff’s Office is taking applications for a Full-Time Dispatcher position. Dispatchers are responsible for dispatching Law Enforcement, answering phone calls from the public, answering transferred 911 calls, answering multiple phone lines and radio operations. Must be able to multi-task, handle high stress situations and have good people skills. Must be a U.S. Citizen, have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate, minimum 19 years of age, must successfully complete an oral interview, extensive background and criminal history investigation, medical examination, drug test, no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions. Full time benefits include uniform allowance, county health benefits, and retirement package. Starting wage depending on experience.

JAILER
The Richardson County Jail has an opening for a Full-time Correction Officers and is seeking motivated, dependable individuals to fill this position. Starting wage negotiable depending on experience/training, full insurance benefits; retirement. Must be a U.S. Citizen, have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate, minimum 19 years of age, must successfully complete an oral interview, extensive background and criminal history investigations, medical examination, drug test, and must be able to complete certification by the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center. A Correction Officer must also read, write and speak the English language above average and possess, or be able to possess, a valid driver's license. Enforces and upholds Rules and Regulations established by State Statute, Nebraska Jail Standards, and the Richardson County Sheriff’s Office pertaining to the operation of the County Jail, prevent escapes, maintains order and discipline among inmates, escorts inmates to and from their cells, performs periodic inspections to insure adequacy of custody, housekeeping, sanitation, and related functions. Responds to the needs and problems of inmates as they arise, participates in processing newly incarcerated inmates, control and restrain violent inmates, inspects inmates and quarters for contraband, prepares and maintains records and reports, work various shift hours including nights, holidays and weekends. The hours will be 6:00 pm to 6:00am with rotating weekends, with dayshift potential.
